A Wave of Worship

Our times of corporate worship should be the origin for a massive wave that floods this city on a weekly basis. Worship isn’t confined to a building any more. Jesus changed all of that – worship went global, it went local, it came to the places we live. It lives in the hearts of all who call Christ Savior and celebrate Him as Lord.

I’m writing this post in my office at the church and while I have no idea where you’re reading this, I would guess it’s probably not in a church. Yeah, worship happens where I am right now. But God’s heart is that it would also happen right where you are now. Pretty amazing, huh?

So many of you have already jumped on board with the idea that service can be worship. As of this morning, just under 300 Frontliners have committed to serve DC’s public schools on August 23rd. That’s amazing to me. And it’s worship to God. There’s this little wave of worship that’s growing and I hope none of us miss the chance to be a part of it. If you didn’t get the chance to commit on Sunday night, you can still sign-up online or just go there for more information.

Worship really is this beautiful marriage of song and service, of praise and providing, of celebrating and sharing.

Worship happens in a church. Worship happens in offices all over the city. Worship happens in public schools. I pray it happens in each of our hearts.
